Opa

INTRODUCTION:

My name is John and I am Australian. Also known as Opa. Oma and Opa is the equivalent for Grandfather or Grandmother in Dutch.

While a Public Servant, I was given the nickname of Professore for the help and support I gave the Italian community. Over the years, somehow or other, the nickname changed to the plural form.

Not speaking Italian and understanding only a little I believe that Professore is the singular form and Professori is the plural form of the name...but let me assure you I am only one person:)

(b)My Background.
I am an ex-farmer, engineer, business executive, consultant, advocate and ex-public, (civil) servant. Now retired, I enjoy making things, (mostly in wood) for friends and family.

My community work involves working as a volunteer advocate for people who need help, but who do not know where to go or have difficulty getting their concerns understood when dealing with government departments.

My wife, Joan Anita's many friends and fans asked me to keep her stories and poems alive in her memory, so her stories, poems and other work is shown on my web site.

To make navigation easier I have used buttons to link points of interest and to keep most of her work separate from my own. Her pages include stories, poems and handcraft work.

Anita's Domain (web pages)and The Daily Cat Express buttons
will take you to Anita's magical worlds,

Where animals can talk and do magical things.
Click on a button to travel to those mystical realms.

Click on the relevant buttons to read Prof's essays and stories, woodwork and metalwork.

If you like some of the projects and would like to build them yourself, please feel free to copy them. Some of the projects include a summary of how they were built

Thank You:)
